The Author

Hǎi-Liàng “Hal” Wáng is a London‑based software engineer and founder of K&E Tech, a boutique consultancy helping teams turn ambitious ideas into dependable products.

Hal began his career deep in backend systems—building high‑traffic, low‑latency services, data pipelines, and distributed platforms. This foundation taught him how complex software behaves under real‑world pressure and continues to shape his approach today: clarify the goal, design for the “unhappy paths,” and ship with operational confidence.

In the last couple of years, Hal has bridged the gap into product‑facing engineering. By taking on substantial browser‑side work, he has proven his ability to ramp quickly in new domains without losing rigor. He thrives at the intersection of performance, privacy, and user experience.

His current focus is AI‑native engineering. He recently put this into practice by learning mobile development from scratch and shipping two iOS apps — WatchLess and TempoBlocks — to the App Store in a short window. He uses modern AI tools to prototype ideas rapidly, then applies engineering discipline to ensure the results are robust and maintainable. This process has sharpened his focus on craft and iteration speed while maintaining his emphasis on clean abstractions and pragmatic trade‑offs.

Hal shares his findings through open-source contributions and technical writing. He is currently open to senior contracting or full‑time roles where he can own outcomes across design, build, and delivery.
